The wall piece, Louver: Houston, has made its was to Nacogdoches for the biennial Refined Exhibition at Stephen F. Austin State University. This year’s Juror was Perry A. Price, executive director of Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. I feel very fortunate to have had a piece selected. I will not be able to make it to the reception but perhaps you will! Its Friday the 26th at 6pm at the Reavley Gallery in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House. Price will give a talk at 5:15. The Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. JUROR: Materials Hard and Soft 2015
I was so excited when I received the letter inviting me to be the juror for the next Materials Hard and Soft Exhibition at the Greater Denton Arts Council! For those who are not aware, this is a National Contemporary Craft Competition and Exhibition that has been running strong for twenty-seven years. Past jurors have included such luminaries as Brent Kington, Mary Lee Hu, Paul J. Smith, Arline Fisch, Kenneth Trapp, Michael Monroe, Lloyd Herman, Marylin da Silva and the incomparable Harlan Butt. System has been selected by juror Gwynne Rukenbrod, Executive Director of Handmade in America, for inclusion in the Fine Contemporary Craft Exhibition at Artspace in Raleigh, North Carolina.
