Recent Works at the Delaplaine and a talk at Towson University
Tomorrow I am heading to Maryland for two very exciting opportunities!
Leslie D. Boyd of the Metalsmithing and Jewelry Area at Towson University is being so gracious as to host met for a talk excerpted from my History of Crafts Class, entitled "Foundations of the Studio Craft Movement." It will take place Thursday May 3rd at 6:30 in the Art Lecture Hall at the Center for the Arts.
I am pleased to be exhibiting at the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick, Maryland, from May 5 through June 24. If you are in the area, stop by and say 'hi' on the 5th. The reception is from 3-5pm.
Industrial Arts: Exhibition and Public Talk
I will be exhibiting a wide variety of work at the University of Texas at San Antonio's Terminal 136 Gallery from August 31st through September 16th with a public "lunch and lecture" at the Southwest School of Art on Saturday September 16th at 12:30.

Peruvian Goldsmithing Talk
I will be giving a talk on the methods and materials used in ancient Peruvian metalworking at the Irving Arts Center on November 2nd at 2pm. The talk is free and open to the public. In addition to explainging how they acquired and used various metals, I will also give short demonstrations on some of the techniques using more contemporary equipment. Even if you don't get a chance to see the talk, I highly reccommend the exhibition which was organized in conjunction with the National Geographic Museum. Its an outstanding collection of work. Summer Classes on Offer
I will be teaching at a diverse array of institutions this summer. Last week I had a fantastic time with Natalie Macellaio’s Metalsmithing: Plasticity Workshop at Brookhaven College (see image below). On June 21 and 22 I will be teaching fun and simple jewelry making at UNT’s Grandparents University. Want to catch me on the East Coast? Try signing up for my Wearable Hollow Forms class at Peter’s Valley Craft Center, July 6-10. OR you could splurge for the international adventure at the Glass Furnace in Turkey outside of Istanbul to learn about Silver Surfaces (Reticulation, Granulation and Keum Boo) August 1-5. All skill levels are welcome for these fun and educational adventures in metalworking.
